SPIRITUAL
FORMATION
for Men & Women
“To follow Jesus is not just to believe in his life; it is also to follow him into his lifestyle.”
– Justin Whitmel Earley
OUR MISSION
The spiritual formation team exists to equip the men and women of Good Shepherd with context, content, and habits that will form them into followers of Christ who are rooted in the gospel, reflecting the Kingdom, and reaching our city.
DISCIPLESHIP
GROUPS
Discipleship groups are small groups of either women or men who meet weekly to go deeper into Scripture through reading, prayer, discussion, and self-reflection. While similar to a Bible study, discipleship groups are less instructional than they are relational in nature. Our goal is to learn to apply the truths of Scripture to our daily lives as we seek to follow Jesus and make much of his name in our homes, cities, workplaces, schools, etc.
For our first year, all of the groups will be studying the Old Testament. Each discipleship group's leader will act as a facilitator, guiding a discussion based on readings and questions the members will reflect on before getting together. These groups are designed to be a safe space to listen, learn, share, and grow together as you encounter God through His word and fellowship with one another.
RESOURCES FOR WOMEN
Join our women’s Facebook group to stay in the loop on the organic goings-on in and around the church. Meal trains, furniture give aways, etc!
When you sign up for “Let’s Get Coffee” you’ll be matched with another woman in the church to get to know over coffee or a meal!
